We’ll be writing up a post specifically about Thanksgiving activities in the near future, but for now here are some of the other fun events going on this month.
November 9th, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
This is not your average hula show. Eight different halau representing Maui, Kauai, Oahu, California, Germany and Switzerland come together at the Hawaii Theatre in this epic performance. Journey through visionary director Roselle Bailey’s personal interpretation of Hawaii’s history from the time of its creation through all of the historical highlights that have shaped the culture of the islands. The show masterfully blends traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music and hula.
Diamond Head Arts & Crafts Fair
November 10th, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Whether you’re looking for unique Christmas presents or beautiful handcrafted souvenirs to take home to your loved ones, be sure to stop by the Diamond Head Arts & Crafts Fair, being held in the Kapiolani Community College parking lot (just a short bus ride from Waikiki). There will be arts and crafts, plants, food, entertainment, cultural activities and over 200 crafters and locally handmade crafts.
Ukulele Guild of Hawaii’s 11th Annual Exhibition
November 16th, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Learn everything you could ever want to know about ukuleles! Head on over to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel and check out the incredible handcrafted ukes on display. You may even purchase one from a local vendor. Enjoy uke music performed by a number of different groups and solo artists. There will also be a silent auction and players seminars throughout the course of the event.
November 16th, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
This year’s event will feature 15 different speakers representing fields such as technology, entertainment, art, science and education. Thought leaders will share insights in the spirit of the 2013 theme, “Cultivating Community.” Join an enlightening dialogue about driving social change. Tickets are on sale now – don’t miss out!
Discover North Shore
November 16th, 3:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Oahu’s famous North Shore has a lot to offer – huge waves, delicious local cuisine, adorable boutiques, talented musicians and visionary artists. Turtle Bay Resort is proud to present an event that encompasses it all! The free festival portion takes place from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM and will be followed by a paid, ticketed concert featuring Fiji, Ooklah the Moc and Nesian N.I.N.E. from 6:45 PM – 9:30 PM. The party continues at Surfer, The Bar and North Shore Kula Grille (both on property) from 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM.
